The Van Dijk Heating team is looking back on a successful Greentech 2025, which took place in Amsterdam from June 10th to 12th. “We had plenty of traffic to the booth every day,” says Ton van Dijk, Managing Director. “What stood out were the many specific questions about our solutions for humidity control with AVS and water disinfection with Ecoster. The introduction of our new Ecoster E generated interest as well.”
Van Dijk says he can clearly see that topics like energy saving, efficient water use, and disease prevention are on the minds of growers and people in the supply industry. “Sustainability has been a reality for years in the Netherlands and Europe. The high cost of energy, stricter legislation for the discharge of wastewater, and the pricing of CO2 emissions are forcing horticultural companies to redesign their energy management and cultivation systems.”
Among other things, you see this in the sharp increase in the number of multiple screen systems and rapid switch from SON-T to LED lighting, the Managing Director says. “Growing under LED light with closed screens and vents requires additional measures for good, efficient climate control. This transition is now happening outside Western Europe as well. You can see this in the many pointed questions from visitors from all over the world. It is very much on people’s minds, and growers are really looking for customization.”
Reliable customization is what Van Dijk Heating is all about. This applies to the AVS systems, available in several versions, and also to the Ecoster drain water disinfectors, rendering viruses and microorganisms in water systems harmless. “Heating may be the surest method of thoroughly disinfecting drain water and keeping it suitable for reuse," Van Dijk goes on. “With our new Ecoster E, this can be done fully electric with substantially less power consumption than before. The first orders have already been taken, thanks in part to the successful pilot projects of the past six months. There is also still demand for the gas-fired Ecoster and for the Ecoster K, which runs on the central heating system of a boiler, CHP or buffer tank.”
On behalf of the entire team, Van Dijk would like to thank the many visitors again for the enjoyable conversations, sincere interest and critical questions. “That’s why we do it,” he says with a big smile. “I hope everyone who visited our booth learned a thing or two from it. Looking forward to seeing you next time!”
